Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers is a cooperative effort between law enforcement agencies in Santa Clara County, local media, and a volunteer board of directors. Our program operates a 24-hour telephone line (408) 947-STOP (7867), a website (, and the P3Tips app for the community to report crime tips anonymously. Our program allows citizens with information about serious crimes to report without giving their name or personal information. Crime tips resulting in an arrest of suspects entitle the caller (identified by a code number given to them) to a cash reward. Community members are urged to call (408) 947–STOP or submit their crime tips using P3Tips if they have information on a serious crime. Rewards up to $1,000 are offered for information leading to an arrest.

Inmate Johnell Carter escaped in Santa Clara County: $6,000 total reward being offered for info leading to Arrest

Inmate Johnell Carter, was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on March 10, 2014. Carter was
booked into jail on suspicion of five counts of child molestation by Campbell Police Department.

On March 6, 2015 Carter was transported to Valley Medical Center for a medical appointment. During Carter’s medical appointment he fought with a Deputy, causing injury to the Deputy’s shoulder. Carter fled from Valley Medical Center and was last seen by responding Deputies in the area of MoorparkAvenue and Thorton Way in San Jose.

The patrol Deputies set up a perimeter in an attempt to locate Carter. There were approximately 45 Deputies, three K9 Officers, a Sheriff’s Office Helicopter, a California Highway Patrol Helicopter and Officers, and San Jose Police Officers involved. At approximately 5:45 PM, the search was completed and Carter was not located. The Deputies remain in the area and detectives are continuing to search forCarter.
