San Jose PD searching for sexual assault suspect

A sexual assault suspect is in custody, but another remains at large and San Jose police are asking for the public’s help in locating him

According to police, Samuel Martinez and his former wife Lisa Young are suspected of committing multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault on two minors between 2000 and 2006 when the minors were 8 and 9 years old. Officials say the majority of the crimes occurred at a residence on Gallant Fox Avenue in San Jose.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office filed charges against Martinez, 41, and Young, 40, on March 1 and Young was promptly taken into custody. Martinez remains on the loose. Authorities say Martinez has family in both San Jose and Hollister and is actively evading arrest.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Samuel Martinez is asked to contact Det. Lauren Vidal of the San Jose Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit at (408) 277-4102.

Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-7867.
