San Jose police investigate fatal shooting of 20-year-old man

A 20-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday night in San Jose, the city’s third homicide of the year, according to police.
The man Monday was identified as Ramon Ruano of San Jose.

At 10:15 p.m. Sunday, San Jose police responded to reports of a shooting. Officers found Ruano in the rear parking lot of an apartment complex on Blackford Avenue, near Saratoga and Moorpark avenues. He had one gunshot wound.

Ruano was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:54 p.m.

The circumstances and motive for the shooting are unknown and remain under investigation. No suspects have been identified.
